Connect Fireflies
Fireflies runs a hosted MCP server, so a harness agent can find meetings, read transcripts and summaries, and search across them once Fireflies is added as a workspace connector. XPT Tracker registers itself with Fireflies automatically; no Fireflies app has to be created.
Before you start
| You need | Why |
|---|---|
| Workspace admin role in XPT Tracker | Only admins add and connect connectors |
| A Fireflies account that has the meetings agents should work with: its own, or shared with it by the team | The connection acts as this account and sees what it sees |
Choose the account deliberately. A connector is shared: every agent you give it to reads the meetings of the account that connected it. Fireflies grants a fixed set of permissions that cannot be narrowed at sign-in (see step 4), so a dedicated account that only has the right meetings shared with it is the safer choice.
Connect
In XPT Tracker, open Workspace settings → MCP → Connectors and press Add connector.
Fill in the form:
Field Value Name FirefliesKey fireflies(the key cannot be changed later)Server URL https://api.fireflies.ai/mcp Authentication OAuth Press Add and connect. Fireflies opens in the browser.
Fireflies asks twice:
- First, Fireflies MCP is requesting access to your profile and email. Press Authorize.
- Then Authorize access to Fireflies names XPT Tracker and lists what it will be able to do: read meetings, transcripts, summaries and soundbites (your own and those shared with you), read analytics and contacts, and also share meetings, change who can see them, move and rename them. These permissions are fixed. Press Allow access.
You return to the Connectors list, and the connector shows Connected.
Give it to agents
Open AI Studio → Agents, select a harness agent, and add Fireflies in its Connectors section. The change applies from the agent's next turn.
Ask in plain language, for example "@analyst summarise last Tuesday's customer call from Fireflies and turn the follow-ups into tasks".
When something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The agent finds no meetings | The connecting account has no recorded meetings, or the meetings were not shared with it. Share them with that account in Fireflies |
| The connector shows Needs reconnect | The access was revoked in Fireflies or the account lost access. Press Reconnect and sign in again |
