Discussions & Channels
Conversation in XPT Tracker happens in threads, and every thread works the same way wherever it is. What differs is what the thread is attached to, and so who sees it.
Where a conversation can live

Keep a conversation next to what it is about. A question about a task belongs on the task, where the next person will look for it, not in a channel where it scrolls away.
Conversations that belong to a private team, such as the discussion of one of its tasks, are seen only by that team's members.
What every thread can do
- Markdown messages, written in the composer at the bottom: headings, lists, code, links.
- @mentions. Mention a person and they are notified in their Inbox. Mention an agent and it runs and answers in the same thread.
- Replies to a specific message, reactions, and editing or deleting your own messages.
- Live updates. New messages, edits and agents' answers appear without a reload.
- Unread marks. A thread with something new is marked in the sidebar, and it opens on a New messages line so you start where you left off.
In channels, direct messages and brainstorms a message can also carry files, up to ten per message. See Attachments & References.
Who wrote it
A message normally carries its author's name and nothing else. Two things can appear beside the name:
- An agent's reply is posted under the agent's own name.
- A message written through an assistant you connected over MCP is posted under your name with a badge such as MCP · Opus 5: it came from your assistant, and that is the model it said it was running.
