Milestones
A milestone is a checkpoint inside a project, usually with a target date. It's how you split a project into meaningful stages — "Beta", "GA", "Phase 1" — and track progress toward each.
How milestones work
- A milestone belongs to exactly one project, though it can be reassigned to another.
- A task can be inside a milestone or outside it. Attach a task to a milestone from the task's properties.
- Milestone progress is the share of its attached tasks that are closed.
Using milestones
- Open a project and create a milestone — give it a name and an optional target date.
- Attach tasks to it (from each task, set its Milestone property).
- Watch the milestone's progress bar fill as tasks close.
Milestones appear on the project detail view with their own progress, and you can filter tasks by milestone (see "Finding Tasks") to focus on exactly the work in one checkpoint.
